NTEA supports TMOM
The doctors and staff of NTEA along with 120 other dentists from the North Texas
area volunteered their time in support of the Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) and
Give Kids a Smile event held at Fair Park on February 25th and 26th of this year.
As a result of the of the charitable donations from local corporations and dental
supply companies, as well as the more than 350 volunteers, TMOM was able to provide
dental screenings for over 800 needy citizens of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Dental
treatment was completed for 672 patients. At the end of the two-day event, TMOM had
provided over $250,000 of dentistry at no charge for the patients.
The NTEA doctors and staff provided both clinical and administrative expertise in
support of this very worthwhile project. At the end of the day we were all exhausted,
but we also shared a great sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.
NTEA at the AAE
Doctors Regan and Witherspoon, along with Dr. Richard Ellis, presented one of the highlighted
presentations at the 62nd annual session of the American Association of Endodontists held in
Dallas this year. The topic of their daylong presentation was "The Biology of Soft Tissue Management"
and "The Biology of Wound Closure and Wound healing". The discussion included current scientific
data as well as the clinical application of this data with regard to endodontic microsurgery.
